The Daruma Family dolls are inspired by the traditional Japanese Daruma, a symbol of perseverance and good fortune. What makes our dolls special is their ability to record and play back personal voice greetings. This makes them perfect for birthdays and other celebrations, allowing every gift to carry a personal touch.
After placing your order, you'll receive an email confirmation. We will send the dolls to your designated address. Once you have the dolls, you can do the recording directly. If you want TTS (text-to-speech) generated greetings in a desired language and/or voice, you can do so via our Daruma Family website and download it to your dolls.
Record (or upload) your voice message on our website and then, ask our fulfillment team to download the voice of your message onto the doll before shipping.
Each voice message downloading, there is an additional $3.50 service charges. You'll also get a confirmation email once your voice message is received.
If you asked our fulfillment team to download your voice message but failed to send your voice file over to our website (automatically to our fulfillment center) before your scheduled ship-out time, you must choose one of the two options: This option has to be chosen before you can advance further the purchasing process.

- Cancel the order for a refund, minus a 15% restocking fee.
We'll also send you a reminder email 2 days before your scheduled shipping date, so you won't miss your chance to upload.
If you are planning to buy the Daruma Family with 4 dolls and you have sent us the voice files for each of the 4 dolls and pay the service fees, the alternation is for you to do your own recording. We will only send the 4-dolls family bundled package to one address.
Our dolls are designed in California. Circuit boards are manufactured in Beijing, doll shells and coloring are made in Guangdong, and final assembly and quality control take place in Guangdong, China. The quality control, voice downloading, shipping and handling to individual backers will be handled in California.
With this global setup, we are ensuring quality while keeping production efficient. Fulfillment centers in Mexico and other places in the world are being set up.
Our production samples have been tested and approved. We expect to begin fulfillment shortly after the campaign ends. Specific delivery timelines will be updated on the campaign page, and we'll keep backers informed throughout production and shipping.
Yes. All dolls are produced following toy safety standards. The smaller "kid versions" are specifically designed for children of 5 years old or above, but all versions are safe to gift to both kids and adults.
Yes! You can order individual dolls or collect the entire Daruma Family at a discounted bundle price. Collecting all four family members makes the gift even more special.
